Hey Crystal, I also cannot remember all of the details. We took the buss from the Beijiao Beijing Bus Terminal. It left at 5pm on a Friday evening and arrived into Erlian at 3am. The border opens at 8am and you are not allowed to cross on foot. From memory we walked to the gate of the bus terminal turned right and the hotel where we camped out was about 400m down the road. I went to the bus terminal on the Sunday to buy the bus tickets, it cost around RMB 200 per person, one way. Not sure if we got ripped off or not. Once in Erlian, we booked return tickets for that evening, before we crossed over into Mongolia.

I went on the same visa run mid winter, it was pretty damn cold. I forgot to write down all the bus information to pass on to other friends who were interested though and cant track it down any more. Do you have the info handy you could share?

Thanks so much!
