Well, since I haven’t updated my blog in almost 12 months and have still been getting queries of “are you still in Cuba” and “when are you updating your blog”, I have decided to do a bit of a relaunch.
I had grand plans of writing my own HTML code, busting out some nice JavaScripts and even whipping up some AJAX to roll my own photo slideshow…….In my darker moments, I even day dreamed about buying a solid state server / combo firewall and setting up my own WordPress blog on that, but then I woke up to myself and realised that I grew up in the Web 1.0 world and that I haven’t really cut a line of code in years, I’m basically a clapped out old fart in the brave new Web, especially now that my job is mostly arm waving and PowerPoints. So after much consternation I’ve thrown my lot in with the wordpress folks. I just dont have the time for that shit anymore, I will have to lose the mantle of the HAD (Hairy Arse Developer) that I once wore like a badge of honour.
So when I get time, I will be reposting and FINISHING my Cuba blog and then try to be more active in the blogging space. Especially as it is looking more and more likely that I will be moving to Shanghai next year for around 7 months, which should lead to a wave of toilet humour, crass jokes, drinking anecdotes and many politically incorrect and culturally insensative remarks.
Again, this blog will be mostly for friends, family and other interested parties, so I will be keeping it wide open, it will be rated MA 15+.
Hopefully it will become so big, that it will consume all my time and I can travel the world living off google ad revenue and advances from magazines…………whatever

Oh and PS, I’ve already been hassled about my current domain name, once the Cuba stuff is up, including photo’s I will be cutting this content over to www.onegoodeye.co.nr
